Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Planer surface error from joined curves. If anyone has a suggestion on how to create a surface from a series of lines that would be very helpful. Please see image, thanks...

Hey

Looks like I'm not giving proper answers, but it's as I work. Why are you making this logo in grasshopper? Maybe you could just do it in any other software, like rhino, and the feed the surfaces/mesh into grasshopper and work from there...

But sure you can find a way of doing it in grasshopper, seems like your "join" component isn't working as it should. Try to join the lines and curves in order, and see if you end with a one single closed line, in that case the planar component shuold work fine.
Hey Charles,

You are sending a tree of data into the planar component, you can see the difference in line types entering and exiting the component. It may be as simple as flattening the data before using the planarsrf component. There are a number of good video tutorials on data tree structure.

James
thats right, use a flatten tree component after the join component and then the planar srf.
Thanks James and Manuel, that did the trick.

I can't find the same "Planar" node in this discussion. I have the latest GH. My planar has a C input and p P D output. The Planar discussed in this tutorial has an E input and S output where can I find that one?

thx,

Lee

It was renamed to [Boundary Surfaces].
