algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I've been using the Lan Architecture definition for Planar Hexagon Panels ( http://www.livearchitecture.net/archives/3317 ) but I'm trying to apply it to a surface and get a water tight result. Could be just hexagons or hexagons/pentagons like a football. Does anyone a definition or a way to do it? Should I subdivide the surface > list the points > interconnect them ?

hi luis.. i've tried this step too.. but my result is not water tight surface.. the flat hex component resulting porous surface.. can you share your definition to me..? your help is very appreciated...

If the surface doen't panel into planar hexagons straight away, you will either have planar hexes and discontinuities at the seams or you'd need to modify the surface. Modifying the surface is an iterative process since you got a lot of panels each depending on the position and orientation of its neighbours.

Only triangle panels are flat for every possible surface.

Better look at Kangaroo. I think, Daniel Piker posted some video about mesh planarization and hex paneling.

Kacper Radziszewski could you help me out with this I have been reading and looking for info about making a water tight flat planar hexagonal panels over a given surface. I've been using the Lan Architecture definition too.
