algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I've got two "branching" lists and would like to place one below the other in a single list, how could I do that?

I hope it makes sense, below are my two lists. Merging the lists doesn't work...

regards,

Arthur

Wouldn't Set Union work?

Hi Chris,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Unfortunately it does the same thing as merge.

Trying to get a list with 50 branches with N=30 and an additional path...

How about List Insert?  Insert the second list at the end of the first list.

Chris

Same Result :S

Hi Arthur, would this work for you?

Hi Pieter,

Thanks a lot for your post!

The issue with using the Path mapper here is that the item_count of 30 does not correspond to the one of the flattened list...In other word not sure if the 30 can vary if the list is larger unless there would be a second input to the path mapper component?

does this help?:
There must be something more elegant

Thanks Systemiq,

That's really helpful but it hasn't kept the list separated...

In your example above how could you split the final list at {5}?

I have tried the technique from the previous thread I posted today but it didn't work...

Many Many thanks,

Arthur

Aaah ok, this so ?

How about this?

Chris

Thanks so much Systemik and Chris,

Systemik, once again this works perfect!

Can you please explain what is happening to the branches in the definition?

From what I understand, you are adding branches to place one list after the other but I am not sure how the decompose/insert/mask process is doing that?

Chris, unfortunately I didn't manage to make your technique work, here is what's happening:
