algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have been able to place the family and rotate it into correct position based on a vector input. That functionality has worked really well for me so far. However, when i try to change some parameters within the family (like height) it seems to be not doing anything unless i create a new run. It doesn't update any parameter values when i select to update a certain run.

I also have a question about hosting elements on curves/faces using lyrebird. I can see an input for "orientation on face", but I am not sure how would one go about placing an object/family on a face/curve. Is that possible? if yes, can you post an example?

Thank you!

My first thought is the parameter inputs aren't grafted or don't follow the same tree structure as the origin points/vectors.  You currently need a matching structure, so even if you're trying to assign the same height height to every element, you can't use just one value.  You have to duplicate the value n number of times and then graft it so there are matching values for each item.

yeah i know that. I made sure that my data structure was matching and every component grafted. it must be something else. Can you test it on this family? I am trying to modify the height parameter.

Thank you,

I found the bug you're experiencing.  It's not calling the method to set the parameter values for non-hosted, origin point based elements.  I'll update that and run through it again to make sure it's not missing elsewhere and get a new version out soon.

maybe just one more question. i noticed that most every family type is available if i go to select the family that i want to operate on. is it possible to place an annotation (generic model tag), using lyrebird?

Right now I think the only view specific elements that it will place are line-based detail components.  I expect to add origin point based detail components and generic annotation at the very least in the near future and will test the plausibility of placing actual tags with it.

I am not necessarily interested in placing annotation elements in views using GH. If anything I would want to tag some elements in 3D for more diagrammatic representations (think panel types etc.).

You can get an update that fixes the parameter values not changing via the download on our blog post, or the installer version should be updated on food4rhino shortly.

wow! that will be awesome. thanks! I am really liking this plugin over all others that i was using so far. I mean lyrebird combines all functionality that i was getting from hummingbird, chameleon, grevit and even some from geometry gym. Good job!
