Pipeline Component

I'm trying to upload a mesh using the pipeline component.  I have the correct layer name, I have a * in the Name: for the file and the layer is activated. I double clicked the geometry button, all the others are off.   I get the message Warning floating parameter failed to collect data.   What am i doing wrong?

So, we have two issues with these files.   I wanted to use weaverbird within the surfaces, but as per note 1 it failed to collect the surface through the pipeline component I have since exploded the surfaces to try to use flow.  Second, I am unable flow the points over the surface.
