algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

What is the magic formula to be written in an expression editor that will truncate the values to single decimal place eg: 123.456789 to 123.4?

Thanks

You also can run it through a VB component, just type A = Format(x,"0.0") in the script editor...

Very interesting discussions,

But would you mind telling me why would this "rounding" be necessary and for what reason can this technic be useful ?

It's simple

I've made an area component for a bigger definition that helps me to controll my work (think about competition brief). Using it you have constant update about design areas as a single, groups and all together.  You can see the room number, area name, desired and designed area.

Attached BIG DEFINITION is for current competition for library in Slovenija.

It's a kind of excell stuff inside rhino. One can find it stupid, but this is something I was thinking of long time before jumping into GH.

Conlusion: rounding to single decimal digit was for display purposes. It is of no importance for larger spaces but convenient for rooms ca 3.2sqm.
