Perforations on a warped surface

Hi,

I have a surface and I want to perforate it with a series of circles spaced at different densities.

I have the surface but I'm really struggling to a) get the circles at different densities and b) cut the circles out of the uneven surface.

I know there are a lot of questions of a similar vein on here, and I've spent quite a while looking, but because I'm still a beginner I'm struggling to make them work for me.

Any help would be appreciated!

It seems like you are using one of my old previous definition, anyway, for perforation in such a case, you can use "split" or "boolean difference" like you did in you try, but also you can use " Copy Trim". You'll need "Lunchbox" plug-in.
