algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello!
Ive got a script that does multiple size of perforation on surface by splitting with curve. However, it only works if the surface is flat on xy plane. When I apply it to a tilted or vertical surface, the circles remain in xy direction and hence could not perforate the skin. Any suggestion?
Thank you!

Hey Ruby,
Just use the normal (N) output from the SDivide component as the normal for creating the circles. You'll need to graft these as to match up to the appropriate points.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your reply. I tried to connect the N output to C component of circle, but nothing comes out? I'm not too of what you mean by graft as well.. Could you please upload the script if possible? Thanks!

I have the latest version of grasshopper and want to create a perforated metal mesh on a solid tred I created for a staircase. I am new to grasshopper, so I desperately need some help with this. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!
Hi Augustin,
Is that a circular staircase?
Can you precise a little bit, that "perforated metal mesh" of a stairs tread?
You just want round holes in it, with it's random disposition?
It is a regular straight staircase. I want the metal risers and treads to be perforated metal. I have modeled these as surfaces in rhino but now want to use grasshopper to do the perforations... how would I do that? Is there a definitition someone can post into which I can just plug the surfaces? Thanks!
The treads and risers in the attached model are what I want perforated. Can someone help me?
I see Chris already helped you.
