algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone

I'm modelling an alarm clock in Rhino and only thing to finish is the metal perforated speaker surface

I've tried some definitions but but all works with single surfaces only and in my model I have got a filleted and trimmed polysurface

any ideas how I could get a result just like in the image?

I'm attaching my surface

thanks for any advise

If you have to render it, just use the pattern as an opacity map. Trim a such dense grid is quite heavy

Bye.

like Andrea says...this will get heavy fast.  But if you must do it, use the explode brep component to isolate each individual face of the brep, select the surface face you want, untrim it, subdivide into frames, apply your circles, and then project them back to your trimmed surface.  then you can split, extrude, etc. as you like...

thanks guys!

I used a perforated texture and rendered the model

looks good enough!
