Patterning on a complicated surface

I have a complicated curve that is a bit hard to manipulate the surface that it is making because most of the scripts that I have work with simple squares. Weither its a Voroni pattern or any type of point attractor script. I have attached an image for the surface that I am trying to manipulate. Keep in mind that it is planner.

Also, to give a better idea of what I am trying to do, its kinda like what this video shows. But imagine all these patterns being applied on the surface picture I linked.
