Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello everyone!

i have this assignment to create a transforming tile using grasshopper..

i have found this video but i don't know how he created the pattern and don't know which commends he uses to enable the changes in the pattern..

can someone help me understand how can i make a grasshopper code like this?

thanks :)

Hello,

I think the information and definition in this link could be helpful for you

http://www.designcoding.net/trifoliolate/

Hello,

you could also look at that :

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/scale-a-pattern-between-w...

Surely it is possible to do like that :

  1. create a grid (hexagonal here)
  2. Explodes curves (it will be a line) augment the number of control points
  3. Make a curve that will be your final shape (a sort of V here)
  4. The idea is to morph between the first curve (a line if a classical grid) to the final curve depending of a coefficient depending on some attractors . Look at my example, the coefficient (slider) is 0 if first shape, 1 for final shape. What could be constant is begin and end of curve.
  5. After that you could add other morph to the complete geometry.

PS : have you some images of your "Argeles Pavillon" ?

I used something like on the link above to morph 2 closed curves, but they could be open.

This should do the same thing as in your attached image.

thank you that was really helpful!

can you please explain what the commands are doing or the process of your thinking because there are a few commands whom their effect i don't understand

(such as point-charge, repeat and the multiplications you have done)

thank you for your help :)
