algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all, I am trying to create a grid for paneling tools+grasshopper by using the Intersect Curves component. I have set it up, but for some reason some levels are bypassed as well as the random column here and there (as seen in the image). I am just trying to create panels between the grids, which is a simple idea but for some reason quite hard to pull off in Grasshopper! Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Joval,
You need to sort and arrange the curves to find the "voids". If you're after a plugin solution, StructDrawRhino makes it easy to achieve as per this image. I scaled each panel from it's centroid to highlight faces.

There's a couple of curve seems creating some 5 sided elements. I tried to quickly work around this in grasshopper without much luck. If you join or shift the seam to an intersection point should be fine.
Hope it helps,
Jon
Jon, that looks like an interesting plugin! Thanks for the help! Those 5 sided elements could maybe be taken out manually if there is no solution. I will try out that plugin as an alternative to Paneling Tools!
Rajaa, thank you for the help. That's exactly what I was going for (not the triangular pattern, which was automatically put in by PanelingTools in Grasshopper, I'll have to play around with that). Thank you for PanelingTools+Grasshopper plugin by the way! :)
Thanks a lot Rajaa,
This works really well but is there a way to do this with curved edges?
Right now it only creates straight edges.
Also, how could I get a surface using 4points as corners instead of 3?
Many thanks,
Arthur
