Paneling a surface

Hello,

I created two small panels  (A and B)that contain geometry generated from lunchbox.

These two panels I would like to translate into a larger subdivided surface with the pattern that is sketched out in the image below.

How can I have control of each row on the subdivided surface and how can I translate the desired geometry onto this surface?
