Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi to everyone, I am new to this forum and I haven't used grasshopper for a long time, so apologies for the dullness of my first question.

If I have one or more object inside a component, and then I copy this component so I have the same points but into another geometry collection why is it that grasshopper show me only the first set (in green I mean) when I click on the component and not when I am clicking on the second one (those remain red).

This thing gets annoying when I go further in developing my definition because I have sets which may contain the same objects but still I would like to see exactly which elements they have inside even if they shares those elements with other components.

(see image attached)

Is there a way to avoid this?

Second question, since I found myself a lot of time in need of an integer slider for example which span let's say from 0 to 10 or 100, or a curve of degree 2 and a close one, not to mention the evaluation of a curve at its midpoint, is there a way which those things can be put into the shelf and for example be called for example "integer slider", or "closed 2d curve". I tried with the cluster but for the slider for example I couldn't do that. Sounds silly but in the end is something which can spare some time..

Thanks a lot

Hi Vincenzo, I think this is because the points are stacked on top of each other. If you disable the preview on the points on top of the stack (not sure what their order is though) they'll show up.

You can create a integer slider, select it, then select create user object from the file menu.

Edit: Good question about the overlapping! And it is kind of annoying yes, I agree

Thanks Pieter,

for the integer slider: awesome!

for the first question the point is really I want to see object even if they are stacked on top of each other without having to disable the preview. When I am working for example with lists which share same set of points I would like to keep seeing them without having to disable any preview from one time to another. And sometimes you maybe don't even know where the same element stacked on top of it is, and to know what really is inside a component you should have to hide everything except that, which I find annoying.

Like in rhino, even if you have two points stacked, if you put them into different layers and select the object on the first layer on time, and on the other another, you always see what is in the first layer and what in the second. Like that apparentely there is not on the second set, and with lots of things it may be confusing.

But maybe there is not a way to do it, even if I hope they'll make it.
