Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi ,

I am New to grasshopper , in the generative algorithm pdf, he used RecGrid component , and the origin of the base plane was the center of the grid.

But using grasshopper 0.8 , the corner of the grid is its origin.

I need to make it in the center , as on page 51 of the tutorial book.

to be able to copy it , and both aligned from its centers.

Thanks guys.

I don't think you can change that at the component level.  Here's a def that should work with the exercise in the pdf.

Oops.  Here's the def.

Thanks so much ..

Hi, I have also been working through this pdf and had the same problem with the recgrid so thanks for getting it solved! I have another problem however. I have followed the exact instructions and double/tripple checked everything but for some reason the polygon component cannot recognize the change in its radius and I cannot get to the next stage. It is very strange.I don't know what I have done wrong!?

Thanks!

I'm not completely familiar with the problem but you mis-entered the square root formula in the function component.   You had (x)=Sqrt(x).  It should be simply Sqrt(x).  I added the sliders to the series component just to make the result visible.

Sorry, but i can't download file .ghx. It auto open xml page.
Can you compress it for download.

Thanks

Hi I'm having the same problem for a completely  different assignment in no relation to the definition  that you guys are using is it possible for someone to briefly explain what component will make the grid start from the center? My issue is that I'm compiling a number of grids and I need them to all rotate with the same center.
