Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm trying to make the origami from the picture in grasshopper, but I don't know how to do it. I have solve one isolated piece but I don't know how to apply it to the dots of a staggered surface.

I've been searching the whole forum and the examples I found don't help me.

I will appreciate any help :)

Thanks in advance

Hi Gonzalo, cant help you but one question, what software are you using to do that?

Daniel Piker produced a version of the waterbomb:

Thanks for the answers.

I solved the problem, the origami definition was right, but the staggered surface wasn't, so I corrected it and now it works fine. Maybe it can be improved, but at least it works! :)

cheers

Hi gonzalo, the result looks like this:

where do you think is the problem? I just opened your definition. Thank you for your help. Jiri

Hi, this is an interesting topic for sure.

I am working on GH origami (paperfolds) as well, and started discussions here:

Thank you for sharing your solution. I'll check it out.

Jiri

Running two OSs on my Mac takes some of the fluidity of your sphere intersection virtuosity (each recalculation takes the 2 cores about 2 minutes). Man, how long did this take you to solve and what exactly is happening there?
