I'm sure there are more elegant ways to do this, and would be very interested to see them! but I got some way along by finding the longest edge, creating a frame at each centre, creating a new straight line and then orienting the triangles to the new line. Did a bit of tidying at the end to get the triangles all facing the same way..

Hi Basim

Your solution is very good ... but I have a feeling that Alexei means "packing" these ("within" a given sheet of metal or plastic or whatever) for some laser cutting. Packing means minimum waste material etc etc.

Is it possible to somehow turn the triangle around a vertical axis without their transfer to a new line !?
