Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I have a question.

How would I make a organic faccade/skin for this building block? It shouldnt be higher than the highest tower and if possible it should follow the curve of the buildings.

Thinkparametric has a tutorial which I thought would help but they want CC information before one is able to use their free trial period...which is not something Im keen to give away etc. So any help from here would be greatly appreciated.

Here a link to the tutorial intro (

I think 29 dollars for one month is really reasonable if you really want to learn it. They also have a 14-day trial. It says: "Your card won't be charged for 14 days. If you cancel before then, your card won't be charged." The payment is powered by Stripe (biggest online payment provider), so I dont think you have to worry about your CC details.

I doubt you will get anywhere near the knowledge here than from that tutorial. I think paying for skills you learn is totally normal. I mean I think a lot of us here in the forum have gone to Grasshopper Workshops in some way or another and they often costs hundreds of euros plus all the travel expenses.

For that tutorial they use T-Splines. If you have never modelled with them, you should learn about them first and you will need the T-Splines Plugin for Rhino.

Actually I never saw that thinkparametric site and it looks really good. So thanks for that ;)

T-Splines Plugin for Rhino is really an awesome tool, based on some time I spent with the trial version a couple years ago - but the price!  $675.  Ouch!!

Still, the method and results speak for themselves.  First class, primo.

Ouch, that IS a lot. But you know over here in Europe.. it costs from 800 Euros. That is just crazy, because thats how much the whole Rhino costs.

I am sure if one desperately wanted to use it, there would be a way to get it ;)
