Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm a beginner with GH. I have read many topics that help me a lot of my first projects.

But for this project I'm stuck.

I am looking for some thought to work on.

It now easy to me to make grey rings through GH

My goal is to fully make the gold one thanks to GH staring from a kind of panel box.

Currently I make them with Rhino with my own "pipable" font.

But no idea of how to link a text in a panel and my spline letters!

Use a database component?

Make a toggle for each letter? What apenned when I need one twice?

Your ideas are welcome!

All the best.

Paul.

Linking characters to geometry is fairly easy, the hard bit is positioning the letters correctly and maybe making the connecting curves (if they are needed).

I attached a (very) rough proof of concept for this.

Incidentally, if your letters are more complex than single objects, you can create a Grasshopper Group (Transform tab) to treat them as a single object. That should simplify the logic.

Thanks a lot. I gonna try to work with this smart base.
