Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, How come I cannot open a grasshopper file wich has been made in a earlier version?

The error message is just that my instance object is not referenced…

Is there a way to open a older grasshopper file in a newer version?

There must be a way to do it, otherwise all the definition I have made before are not working anymore.

Please help

thanks

Can you post the error message as an image?

There you go!

Are you able to post the file?

does your old file make use of any of the following components that you know of.

Either C# or VB.Script, Read File or any Third Party Plug-ins like Kangaroo, WeaverBird, gHowl, Geometry Gym etc etc

Here is my file.

It should not use any of those things.  Its a really basic definition.

It opened fine here.

Just to be on the safe side I replaced old components and saved as a .gh

Note the referenced surface is Internalised. Just pick one from the Rhino Document instead in the usual way.

Weird! I open it but its the same problem!!!

My grasshopper version is 0.6.0018

it this the problem?

Sorry. My version is 0.8.0066. I should have asked. The version you are trying to open (originally) is actually a later version than the one you have. version 0.6.0043.

You will not be able to open a "Newer" version.

You can download version 0.6.0059 from here if you need: http://rhinoart.info/archives/1778

ok I just reinstalled my 0.6.0043 version and now it works.

I had a hard time reinstalling the newer versions because I tryed Kangoroo and it made my system crash so that's why I had to reinstall a older version.

Now it works so thanks so much for the help man!!!

ciao

As a Last resort you can remake it from this:

Super !

thanks so much!
