algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have a ribbon like surface and want to offset and "cap" after offset.
First of all how can i control the offset direction besides giving plus or minus in a number slider ? Tried to flip normals but doesnt work.....
Second, after offseting I get 2 curves that I need to bridge with new surfaces.
I tried extrude but its difficult to define vectors since the surface twists in space.
Any ideas?

Hello,
I am not sure I understood what you are looking for (I always find it difficult to think without a definition), but I will give it a try.
For the first issue, I suggest that you use scale instead of offset. This way the offset direction is determined by whether your scale factor is smaller/larger than 1.
As for the second one, how about lofting?
Best,
