algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone!
I wanted to offset this curve along a given surface. But somehow the original curve is the one thats being offset and not the manipulated one. Can someone please help me out?

Many Thanks

Hi Deepthi,

that looks like there might be a bug. Can you post the 3dm and ghx files?

Hi Deepthi,

actually, this is exactly what you'd expect. The Offset On Surface tools only creates curves that are coincident with the surface. So the first step in the operation is to pull the original curve back onto the surface. Since the waves are perfectly perpendicular to your surface your pretty waves are effectively destroyed.

Hey David,
Even if I try to bake the curve and do it, the same result is obtained. Why is that? And is there a solution to this? I wanted to be able to offset those curves in 3different directions along a given surface.
Many Thanks
Offset Curve On Surface only works for curves which are ON the surface. Your wavy curve is not on the surface, so it cannot be offsetted. It needs to be pulled back onto the surface first, which undoes the waves.

I think you need to offset all the curves first, then create the waves on the result.
