algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I tried this basic offset definition for offsetting existing cells in Rhino but I'm getting separate lines offset rather than closed cells. Also, each curve ends up offsetting once where it should be once on each side.

I tried using some of the Voronoi definitions but they have built in random points to work from - this works off existing curves. I'd like to end up with something like the second image - complete offset curves. Any ideas?

Thx..

scale each cell via the midpoints and fillet them if you feel comfortable
Yeah the Offset algorithm in Rhino is pretty far from perfect. I might write a custom offsetter someday to solve some of these issues.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure how to scale the cells since they are single curves, not complete cells. If I join them, there will be some complete cells, and others not. I did have an idea though, what if I was able to attach a planar surface to each curve in the xy axis? Then I could boolean join them and extract the border of everything. The end result would be the same - an offset of the original curve set. Is there a way to accomplish this? Something like John Mirtschin's structural plug in, but for 2d only?

Cheers
