algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello!
I've got a few brief Q's about a model I've started working on.
The model i fairly simple; a set of rings which have been extruded with the 'loft' command ('sweep2' for some reason didn't work) and now need to be connected to each other.
In order to be able to arrange the connections any way I want, I've manually (and this is why I've avoided the 'DivideCurve' command) distributed some points on one ring, and then projected them onto the next together with a line. Very straightforward!
But as I intend to offset a second point from the first one in order to be able to cohesively decide the width of each connection, I've run into problems:
Firstly - I can't seem to find a command which allow me to offset or copy set points along the curve. But there must be a way, seems like such a basic command!?
Secondly - I'm not sure what the best way would be in order to create surfaces out of these new lines (in the same manner as the already extruded rings). I've tried to divide the enclosed curves with the 'Shatter' command, and try take it from there, but I can't seem to make it right.
If anyone's got any tips, I'd be happy to hear them!
