Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

tried all sorts of combos to offset a loft with no luck.

then went and lofted 4 surfaces to create a closed poly-srf, but that didn't seem to work either.

is there a way to get the same result as the "offsetSrf" cmnd in Rhino?

thanks!

u could use the move geometry component and apply a factor to the input vector to modify offset distance
Hi dcay, would the move component give you an equal offset distance on a curved surface though?
it depends on the surface.
usually (double curved surfaces) i would say NO, scaling is not a proper replacement of the offset-method, the result of the offset is another surface, the result of the scaling is the same surface (just bigger).

I guess you've tried the offset component under the surface tab? Why isn't it behaving as expected?
yeah, i'll post my files shortly. just jumped back on this project for pedestals for a gallery exhibit. still not working as i'd like.
so here are the files i've been working with. it seems pretty basic, but no so as of yet. thanks in advance!
