algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi!
As I understand it, Karamba includes the mass matrix and solves the eigenvalue for det(K-lambda*M)=0 in the 'eigen modes' and 'natural vibration' components. I need the eigenvalue for det(K-lambda*I)=0.
Is it possible to obtain the stiffness matrix,K, from karamba, or is it another way I can solve my problem?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Camilla,
the 'Eigen Modes'-component solves the special eigenvalue problem det(K-lambda*I)=0, 'Natural Vibrations' solves det(K-lambda*M) and 'Buckling Modes' det(K-lambda*Kg). K is the elastic stiffness matrix, I the identity matrix, M the mass-matrix and Kg the geometric stiffness matrix.
'Natural Vibrations' and 'Buckling Modes' use a Mises Iteration, 'Eigen Modes' a Lapack routine.
Best,
Clemens
