algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Is it possible to normalize curves (like 3ds max)? I tried reparameterize but i think the height of the hexagons, on a normalized surface, has to be the same...am I wrong?

Thanks

Hi Gstei,

I don't know what normalize in 3dsmax does. Reparameterize will force the curve domain to be 0~1, it will not change the shape of the curve in any way.

The first curve is normalized, the second not: So the first is controlled by points at the same distance. I thought the problem with my hexagons is caused by this...is it possible?

The division of the surface is not regular...

Thanks

That would be rebuilding in Rhino.

I don't see the value of it though, why is it important control-points are spaced equally? I can see the point of removing control-points that don't add to the curve shape, but you seem to want to insert more control-points.

Solved. They were catenaries: i divided them and approximated with a spline. Thanks David
Hi David,
In my case normalization of a curve could be usefull to unbend it.
...to unbend a sheet of metal (with a given bend and cut profiles).
