Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I taking first steps with custom components but I am having a problem:

The component is not loading into its specified ribbon tab: MyBase.New("TestComponent", "ghTest", "Test Component", "Paramsx", "Specialx")

I'm sure everything else follows the directives in the SDK help file and the bin path is added to the Developer settings path list. I'm sure I'm missing something basic.

Any help to get me going would be appreciated.

I'm looking into this, but cannot replicate it yet. This error seems to crop up most often when files are out of synch. Are you absolutely certain you don't have any copies of Grasshopper.dll or Grasshopper.pdb on your disk apart from the ones in the Grasshopper install folder?

Installed latest RH5 build and reinstalled latest GH and behaviour has changed. it actually steps through the whole logic OK but shows the No Source Code dialog for interim steps which I assume relates to code inside the GH Kernel. In other words it is as if it wants to step through the internal GH code lines too and then displays the No Source Code dialog on these steps. Keep on pressing F8 and it finally pops back into my own code. If I dont have a breakpoint before it starts looking for internal code source it does not display any dialogs.

Hopefully that makes sense.

But at least I can start testing something in the interrim even if I have to step through the internal code instructions too.
