Non-Rectangular Facade Panels (Triangular) - Issues with Data Trees & Population Across Surface

Hi all_I'm having issues with trying to populate this triangular facade panel across a surface...extensive troubleshooting into this aside, I think I'm running into issues with data trees not working as posted in other threads.

I've already tried square components composed of two triangular panels, but stitching between components is a problem as the seams won't match between curved or angled faces.

Theoretically this could be done one panel at a time, but I know there's an easier way-data trees or listing to automatically sequence this just doesn't seem to want to work. See troubled definition below. I can't make it select necessary points to create the base triangle in sequence...only one at a time before the definition breaks down.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

So you're after a triangulated parallelogram on the surface? Did you have a look at the previous post?
You would then just need to shift the third j surface co-ordinate from within the script & cull the last j loop iteration.

Thanks Dirk...I started looking around after I posted and ran across the thread you mentioned. It seems promising. Also found some good info on the USyd page as well. I think there's plenty here to take a look at.

Ok Dirk, I'm sorry but it isn't working for me. I'm getting an ordered set of points in a triangular pattern (good) but that overlap themselves (bad), even before I edit the script. Even pulling out single tree items for one of the paths, the points are still not arraying properly.

Is the issue at the script level? Should I even have to be dealing with tree items for this?

Not sure what your issue is but try this script - works fine as it was the i value that needed to be shifted.

Much appreciated Dirk...I think the issue is the 'learning curve' on my end, for sure. I wasn't able to grasp the VB script you referenced before. I appreciate the efforts to bring it down a level...this is really helpful.

Still getting my head around how to branch out beyond the basics, and generally biting off more than I can chew.
