Newbie Question

I have just started reviewing the The Grasshopper Primer_Second Edition.pdf and notice that the icons for parameters and components are different than shown in the book.  They are missing the conection pins and discriptions.

Is this a setting that I need to select or a new icon?  I have the latest version of Grasshopper for Rhino 5.09 rev 14.
