I just installed the latest version of grasshopper. now when I try and open an older file I get the message Missing

Can anyone tell me how to get them back.

Is it a crash window, a message box? Can we see the message? Can we see the older file?

So no crash

When I open grasshopper and select from one of the windows on the canvas that represents a job

as soon as I select it,   it shoes a message Missing files..

Sorry

not thinking to actuall look for the files,

I do have all of them.

So It must be that I need to open them in the newer version of GH

Ah the recently used file tiles! If they're red it means the files they remember are no longer there. It is very unlikely that updating grasshopper would remove any *.gh files from your machine. The only case I can think of is if you had a very old (like several years old) installation that came with an uninstaller, you used the uninstaller and your files were in the program directory.

These days the installers don't remove files any more, they just add more files.

Have you searched your drives and disks for the files? Do you remember where they were saved to (all over, a single directory, the desktop, the gh program directory, the windows temp durectory)?
