Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

It is easy to create a surface like this using the network surface command in rhino 5 with three curves, but I couldn't figure out a simple way to do the same in grasshopper internally.

Any ideas?

Patch seem to work:

What is this network surface stuff? Yikes. Looks like T-Splines. But that's patented.

Yes, I have tried patch, but as you can see there's a difference between the patched surface in grasshopper (left) and the desired surface created with network surface in Rhino5 (right).

The attached script should give you basically the same results as the Rhino command. You may need to tweak the settings to get an exact match.

Thanks Andrew, I managed to use network surface to create similar result with a error message, I just had to include two more points into the V direction. However your code seems to be more thorough

PS: I just got my hands on Human UI, thank you for your great work.

Hi Alex, I'd say this looks really very much like an ExtrudeToPoint situation:
(provided you are using two lines and one curve)

Hi Pieter,

I also had a hard time evaluating that surface, but you just did it there.

NetworkSurface works as well, however ExtrudeToPoint is easier in this case.

Thanks for your thorough exploration.
