Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am wondering if somebody has experience with listening to network traffic through grasshopper (maybe UDP listener..) and isolating certain data in order to make a dynamic model in Rhino from that data.

If you have some experience with this matter. I am very interested. Thank you.

Well ...

recently I did something "similar" for a crazy friend of mine from Turkey who wants to plot vessel routes somewhere in Scotland based on GPS data received via a parser (but the service is in most of times unavailable, he he).

Now ... the graphical part is left a bit unfinished since he has some (very wrong) ideas about how to display these routes (he wants to do some freaky graphs that nobody except him could understand/use).

Using (obviously) solely code since this is about managing volatile/persistent data blah, blah.

If you speak C# maybe this could give you a "rough" guideline - if not recycle this answer.

Haha, thank you for the response Peter!

It is indeed related but not exactly what i am looking for. Hopefully it worked out for your crazy Turkish friend ;)

I am more looking for a way to scan for network-traffic at in university (the type of data is not very important yet). With that data, I would like to create an interactive installation.

So tracking certain ports for information, that sorts of thing.

Thanks!

Well ... that's why I've used " ".

Anyway if and when you have some data on hand post something.
