need to get the line to go from a to b

So I am trying to get the lines to look like this is grasshopper (the pic below), but I can not figure it out, can someone please help?

Too many plugins, and way, WAY TOO MANY components!!  For what appears to be a relatively simple result, code like this is incomprehensible and impossible to maintain:
