Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys Im new at GH and I need some help!!

Does somebody know's how I can make this with Grasshopper?

I was thinkin to use kangaroo but if someone has a better idea is welcome!!Prisa_Escenario.3dm

just search the forum (or the internet) for some tutorials on "attractors".

I was looking for a tutorial for attractors but I don't see how I could use attractors in this exercise!!

Could you enlighten more pleace?

Start with a triangular grid (vector tab). Explode the triangles, use the Z coordinate of each point as a Z coordinate of a new vector (you can mutliply the Z values to get more control over vectors' magnitude or use the graph mapper to have more possibilities for creating your pattern). Add the resulting vectors to points (from the initial grid), remake the polylines (the polyline component). That should do the job.

EDIT : It's to late for me - that way youll get the shape distortion, but in your photo we can see that the topology is changing as well. Just do the above solution, then play with attractors more to get triangles gradually change into rectangles (that part may be tricky a bit).

EDIT 2 : It's really too late - you've to square the z values to get the desired effect (otherwise its just a non-uniform scaling).

oddly enough I happen to have a really old definition I did for a similar pattern. This was before I was so comfortable with lists so It could be done much much simpler but its a start.

Whats the pattern in the cull comand?

default I think. I don't have it at the moment.

I did the exact same thing and this was my outcome!

I dont know if im doing somthing wrong.
