Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone!

Have a bit of a dumb question here. I just want to make an extrusion of circles at different lengths following the normal of the surface divide.

Right now, there's an attractor thing going on here where the closer the sphere is to the surface, the smaller the circle's radius. I'm trying to get the extrusion to be shorter for the circles closer to the spheres and longer extrusions when they are further away from the spheres.

I need to get the distance to plug into some vector component using the data from the 'n' outlet of surface divide and then back into extrude. Unless there's another way?

Here's my definition below:

And a screenshot

My rhino and grasshopper files are attached.

I will be really grateful if someone could help me :)

Cheers,

Ra

it is the

surface normal * distance
then plug the result into D of extrude
Do you mean like this?

Extrude turned up red!
no,
Add a multiplication node or if you are in the old version 0.6xxx use an amplitude node

then

N of SDivision into Multiply input A then the Dist D into multiply input B
then plug the result of the multiplication into D of extrude

or old version of GH

N of SDivision into Amplitude input A then the Dist D into multiply factor
then plug the result of the amplitude into D of extrude
here is an image

better yet

Thanks a lot! but..

Why doesn't my multiply work? I'm assuming that I'll have to install the new one?
Thanks for your patience! But i think i screwed it up again

if you have the old version it would look like this

Is the AXB suppose to be 'Multiply'? 'Cause I'm still getting it wrong :(

here is the definition you had fixed

Thanks! Only problem is I can't open it. Apparently it's a newer version? I just downloaded the latest unstable built. I think it's 6.59? Where can I download a newer version?

Sorry to be such a trouble!
