Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I set up a simple file to create stairs up a line that is angled in the direction of the stair slope. the file basically divides the line and then moves rectangles (for the stair treads) up the divided points.

the file works fine when I have just one line. but when I input two separate lines it doesn't work. can anyone tell me why?

PLEASE.

Hi Laura,

What about joining the lines?

the lines are not connected end to end so I don't think they will join. is that correct or can I somehow join (or GROUP) disconnected pieces?
Just unplug your split list component and connect the vector directly to the move component.

that's all

hope it Helps

cheers

the lines I have are not going in the same direction. I see that when they are it works with your suggested change but when the lines aren't in the same direction it doesn't work. it aligns the first rectangle of the first line with the second line direction and the rest of the first line rectangles are aligned with the first line. it aligns the first rectangle of the second line with the second line direction and the rest of the first line rectangles with the first line.

do you know how to counteract this?
