Multiprocess communication in Grasshopper? Any method?

Hello every one,

When we are trying the galapagos component to perform the GA function , it is better to perform in Geometry-transforming operation , but if we wanna linking external application to simulate some building performance ,(eg . ECOTECT/RADIANCE/ENERGYPLUS) , some different phenomena happen.

When gh calls ecotect via COM , galapagos can wait for the result of the simulation ,while calling Radiance or EnergyPlus via DOS/batch , it doesn't wait for the result of the batch result. is there any method to make the galapagos to wait for the running simulation?

Do we have to use the modeFRONTIER or matlab instead?

Hi Yang,

it probably depends from the way the simulation and the link is setup.

How is the connection achieved?

Hi Giulio

the problem is settled.

There are two method to connect , one is Inter-process communication to call ecotect , just like openeco did.

the other is proc.start(*.bat) to call an "open source" app.
