Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Everybody

I have a list of point along a line.

Im trying to move them randomly along the line.

What i found difficult it's to create a controller than give me the control the weight of the random; for example like:

00=no random influence

10=full random influence

other difficulties its to keep the points always inside the line.

Any idea?

thanks you a lot

and really important too.

Im working on it but can't find a good solution:

I have to give a minimum distance between the new list of point.

Thanks guys!

to resume what im trying to do

If you want to maintain a minimum distance this mean they will converge to a state where the minimum distance is kept

will this workaround below work?

or by relaxing the particles (kangaroo)

Thanks a lot Marios!!

I appreciate a lot!

in reproducing this patch but ill looks that when i use the move parameter the points go out of the line.

maybe im doing some mistake.can you send me please the patch?

thanks a lot.

Now im testing the kangaroo patch.

Talk soon

 thanks

you need to make sure the curves are always reparametrised and you have enough points by dividing by length in order for this to work.

I didn't save the def. If you still have a problem send me the def you've already started building.

Ta,

M

the last components you add i rues are just for visualizing isn it?

because i didn't found them.

Im asking if they are fundamental for make it work.

thanks again

The basic idea of points at random lengths along a curve is like this:

You can get the "no/full random influence" effect by making the domain end a "factor" of the start; when set to "1", the lengths will all be the same.  You could do the same with the domain start as well...

thanks a lot joseph!

really helpful!
