Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am currently trying to move one data stream to another - presumably a relatively simple task that is currently evading me! I simply want to move geometry A onto B - any help would be great! Many thanks

Use the Move component in Transform Euclidean and apply your vector.

Thanks for your reply Paul - I've had a go at that. Please see attached - I feel like I'm missing a step somewhere perhaps?

You should connect the geo straight to the move without the area. If your vector is correct, it should move. Remember to turn off the preview of the original geometry if you don't want to see it. Use the area component just to get the centroid for the vector.

You will probably have to use the average component because if you don't it will move each object by it's own centroid. See attached.

Great! thanks! Just one more question though, if I may - the average component throws it off-center slightly - do you know if there is anything else I could use? Many thanks for your help!

If that's one piece, then maybe you don't need average.

Otherwise maybe you need some sort of a weighted average. Not sure how to do that.

Other than that you can fake a point in with the point component until you get it looking right  8-)

Sorry, I came close...

No that's great, thanks for your help!
