algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to do a analysis of a highrise building in Karamba  and I have issues with the core of the structure. what's the best way to model a concrete structural core and since support only applies to points, how should I define the support along the core edge?

thanks a lot for help,

best,

Amid.

Hi Amid,

if the core forms a closed cross section and has a rectangular shape you could use a beam with a box cross section.

In case the core has a complex geometry, large openings or is not closed it is probably more realistic to model it using shell elements. This takes into account the influence of warping torsion and variable shear stiffness.

A line support can be modelled by adding supports at all nodes that lie on that line.

Best,

Clemens

thank you so much for your quick response.
