Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

we are a group of architects working on a project.

iam doing visuals (i use 3dsmax+vray)

export to mesh via the normal rhino exporter subdivides the (overall very basic) geometry

to a CRAZY mesh.

thats ofcourse a problem for rendering time/textures etc etc in max :(

BUT

i know that making grasshopper convert to mesh should solve the problem (rhino dosent ask to convert it itself because its allready a mesh).

Iam pretty new to rhino+grasshopper but figured out "geometry" -> "mesh uv"

but this dosent catch all of my geometry when i try to bake it :(

what to do :) ?

Grasshopper conversion from nurbs (brep) to mesh is not different from rhino's one. Playing with the settings will often make more manageable meshes, even if they differ a bit from original geometry it doesnt matter much for most visuals.

Thinking about your geometry as a mesh from the beginning can be a good option, really hard to say because we have no idea of what your project is looking like.
