Missing menu items

Hiya, I'm having some strange issues with Grasshopper menu items disappearing. I'd like to create a Mesh from Points, but although my classmates seem to have the button, I don't (see image below). Rhino allows me to create a mesh from points, though. The image below is from 0.8.004, but upgrading to 007 didn't help (although I did lose the Extra tab and Kangaroo when I upgraded). I'm guessing Mesh from Points is not the only thing I'm missing, but it's the one I needed to use during a class tutorial.

Any ideas?

I believe [Mesh From Point] is one of [uto]'s MeshEdits tools.

Also, whenever you install GH it will overwrite all existing data in the "Grasshopper" folder so that's why you lost all your custom components.

Which is why components that are not part of the default installation should be in:

<AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries>

(actual location varies depending on Windows version)

You can reach that folder via the Grasshopper 'File->Special Folders->Components Folder' menu.

Oh yeah, I saw that folder the other day! Good point...

But out of old habit I still have .gha's in the Components folder and to install GH for Rhino 5 64-bit I copy and replace the plug-in from the Rhino 4 default directory and I don't lose my customs.

I'm so behind the times, but is it worth asking for separate GH installers for the various Rhino's or is that too much of a PITA?

We're still using Wise installers for Grasshopper, which is pretty outdated technology in 2011. Rhino5 will use the new Wix installer technology so I'm hoping grasshopper will switch someday soon. At that point we can look at making the installer more robust and flexible.
