Hi Guys,
How would you convert a mesh to a Brep?
many thanks,

It depends on the mesh. The 'meshtonurb' command makes a planar nurbs surface for each mesh face and joins them into a brep. This is not always the best solution.
Thanks Vicente,
Should i make a script component with the meshtonurb method?
Why do you want your meshes as breps? From where do this meshes come from?
I had the same problem, the mesh from max.. i cant apply intersect or difference.. any help for that?
Arthur,

This isn't a parametric method, but there is a trial version of a mesh to NURBS surface fitter that works pretty well.

http://www.resurf3d.com/index.htm

I was using it to strategically reconstruct a mesh volume into NURBS surfaces, joining the surfaces, bringing the polysurface into GH as a BRep and then sectioning.

It all depends on the complexity of your mesh.

hello Arthur,

Did you end up finding out how to convert a complex mesh into a brep? any information would be very helpful!

Thanks

Hi Adam,

I would to it like this:

Hope that helps,

Arthur

Hey Arthur,

Thanks a lot for the reply!

I have reconstructed the definition but the brep joiner doesn't seem to be joining the surfaces together? Did this happen on your definition?

Thanks

Hi Adam,

Have you tried flattening the B input of the joiner?

HTH

Arthur

Thankyou!! That worked! much appreciated!

If you have time do know you know how to convert a polysurface to a surface?

Many thanks for your pacience!
