Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

Seems I am digging this subject once again. I've already read this thread, but for unclear (at least for me) reason, proposed solution does not work.

I just started my advanture with Rhino and GH/LB so please forgive me such basic question.

In general - I want to perform some analyses based on surface created out of aerial imagery. The output was .obj file which I wanted to import to Grashopper/LB.

To convert obj to BREP I downloaded recommended scripts (TSpline and Mesh_to_BReop) but since I am a newbie, I can not run it.

My questions are:

1) what are the recommended file formats for meshes exported from Rhino to keep the ability to further import it to GH?

2) What module should be used to import the mesh (indicate path/location of the mesh on HDD) to further process it via M_t_BRep ?

Does anybody can share some thoukts or examples how to build the algorithm to run it properly?

3) Is the way I should import the mesh for BRep conversion requires the same module to further insert it into equation for environmental analyses?

Thanks in advance for Your help!

Hi,

I am having trouble seeing it, but it looks to me like it is a component for your mesh. Right click and assign 1 mesh. It helps if you set to "draw full names" when you are learning, I think!

I am also looking to solve this problem from mesh to nurbs.

Thanks Cat!

After well slept Friday night I approached the issue one more time and - as You said - after feeding the module with file path it worked. Something happened, modules blinked green and everything disappeared :) Not sure whether this is sign of progress or failure but will find out soon (hopefully) ;)
