algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys... I'm trying to open a file I made with 0.8.0007 and I'm getting an error that the component "Mesh FromPoints" can not be deserialized. I haven't uninstalled any add-ons, only difference is that now I'm running 0.8.0010. About to upgrade to 0.8.0013. Will this solve my problem? Or is that component no longer in GH?
Thanks,
Marc

Did that component exist? Isn't MeshFromPoints a separate Rhino plug-in?
I must confess it's never worked for me (when I've tried to find/install it).
It seems to require a very equally distributed point set. Whenever I use it I typically end up repairing small mistakes by hand.

Yeah, I only really use it on points that come from a well-ordered mesh in the first place and have gone through some reasonable deformation... it does a good job at reconstituting the meshes I've thrown at it so far...

I was trying to achieve this method. Could never get it to work. I get all the points and the removal of intersecting points ect. but when i do points to mesh in rhino or grasshopper I get nothing as smooth as this guy got. Mines never even full closed. http://ledatomica.wordpress.com/2010/04/11/organic-mesh-modelling-i...
The only Mesh From Points component I know of is in Uto's MeshEditTools. And it works fine for me in 0.8.0013...
The MeshFromPoints command is not part of standard Rhino and therefore I cannot access the algorithm from Grasshopper. Reason for this being that the algorithm we use cannot be sold, the license agreement stipulates it must be freeware. If it were part of standard Rhino it would be considered commercialized, therefore it has to remain a free separate download.
