Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I had a script that relied on the Mesh Face Vertices component which dosen't work for me with the latest release. Error reports "Invalid cast: GH_MeshFace >>MeshFace.
Script works if I reload the previous version. Anyone else with this problem or a work around?

Here's a work around that uses the string tools to create a NURB Surface based on the Mesh Faces.

Thanks Danny, works great and gave me a lesson on working with the string tools.

Hi Jeff,

maybe our mesh explode component could help you...

Hi Ursula,
The tools sound great but I haven't loaded a custom grasshopper assembly file yet. I tried opening them and placing them in various of the grasshopper plug-in folders but haven't accessed them yet.

Never mind, figured it out.
Loaded the .gha into the user objects folder within the grasshopper plug-in folder.
This is a very nice workaround, but going to Nurbs will slow things down considerably. David is aware of the issue so hopefully we'll get a working component in an upcoming release.
I was only using the nurbs surface for the example, as the face decompose component outputs points, I wasn't sure what they were intended for.
Just fixed this, it will be working again in the next release.
