algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
I am in the early stages of developing a few definitions which are quite involved in various modes of mesh generation (using Rhino 5 + Grasshopper). Needless to say this involves decomposing, manipulating and recomposing meshes a lot. It's all going quite well, however there are a few Rhino commands which do not seem to be available in Grasshopper. Specifically "UnweldEdge" (unwelds the vertices of selected edges) and "WeldVertices" (welds the selected vertices). Those commands would be very useful in my current project, so I was wondering if they might be accessed using one, or more, of the scripting components. Preferable Python, but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I hadn't looking there yet, thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately it seems that the two Rhino commands I was referring to do not appear to be accessible via Rhino Common. It does however seem like there's a bunch of methods in there which can be very useful in general.
Continuing my search for mesh editing commands (or polygon modelling tools if you will!) in Rhino I downloaded the trial version of T-Splines yesterday. Looks pretty much like what one would expect from a somewhat advanced polygon modeller. I was particularly impressed by the T-Splines "Unweld edges" command, which unlike Rhinos "UnweldEdge", behaves like one would expect if used to modelling using 3ds Max, Maya etc. That is, "opening" up the selected edgeloop by leaving two vertices for each vertex along the loop, one on either side of the "opening". Rhinos "UnweldEdge" simply unwelds the vertices without looking at topology, leaving as many vertices in place as the original vertex had surrounding faces. Now if only T-Splines was accessible via Grasshopper!
