Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone.

I've changed the input surface of a previous definition into a series of meshes. I want to analyse the behaviour of those mesh in relation to an attractor point. But when I try to create a surface from a grid of points, the error 'U count value is not valid for this amount of points' appears. The expression U+1 is not working... how can I resolve that?

Thanks.

From the screen shot your Meshes don't have a uniform row count.

Yeah, the meshes are not regular. I'm probably using a wrong path but what I'm doing is converting the mesh into a surface. I am ending up with a series of points that react to the attractor point but I cannot still get a mesh from it... the error message now says 'A point in the grid is null. Fitting operation aborted'. What is it referring to?

You are creating planar surfaces which are resulting in Trimmed Surfaces When you divide a Trimmed surface with the SDivide component you are using the UV parameters of the untrimmed surface any that lie outside of the trimming boundary will be <Null>.

I see... So do you know if there's a way of doing it? Use a colour gradient with an irregular mesh to observe the relationships with an attractor point?

I think you are missing the fact that you can create a mesh based on your original inputs.

Yes. Thanks Danny.
