algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have created a new definition for grasshopper that will import particle animations from Maya into grasshopper. Right now I only import two attributes, position as point and velocity as a vector. The script is open and easy to add any property you want to carry over. The idea behind the function is to use Maya ability to create “smarter” point cloud using forces and AI.
You can find the download and instructions on my site www.cerver.org

hi thanks for the script but i have just a question,
in my case maya dont´t know the "-atr rgbPP " flag in your expression
dynExport -all true -atr position -atr velocity -atr rgbPP -f pda
what was your way to use it?
bests christoph
it depends how you create a particle in maya weather or not it automatically creates a rgbPP attr. to have the property applied for you create "balls" . but otherwise you have to add the rgbPP yourself. you can assign the property to many different things like life, speed, collision....
but you do not need to add it so just leave it out and everthing will work fine.
dynExport -all true -atr position -atr velocity -f pda
on another note i started a group called CERVER tools so it would be good if you use that to ask questions
